Location
We have built our popularity on the bedrock that we are a super, good value base from which to tour the Cotswolds, Stratford, Warwick, the Malverns, Wye Valley and even the Midlands' Industrial archaeological area (a contradiction in terms?!). As we are centrally located, we are also a good midway point for meeting friends or relatives at either end of the country.
Nestling in the valley of the Avon (Shakespeare's Avon) and River Severn, the Vale of Evesham is a very fertile horticultural 'garden of Eden' with a long history of asparagus, soft fruit and a mild climate.
So within 30 or 40 minutes drive you could easily potter round one of the following haunts:
- Evesham - (obviously!) a pretty little riverside market town
- Stratford - stacks to do & good shops (not all Shakespeare related)
- Warwick - the finest medieval castle in England, says Mme Tussauds who owns it! (definitely worth a visit, lots to see and do)
- Worcester - Cathedral
- Cheltenham - Pleasant Georgian Spa Town and again, good for shopping
- Malvern - Victorian Spa ideal for the energetic; climb the hills to see the superb views
- North Cotswolds - Best to just potter around these picturesque villages - Broadway, Snowshill, Stanton, Winchcombe, Upper & Lower Slaughter, Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, Moreton-in-Marsh, Chipping Campden
- Vale of Evesham villages - this is Archers country so Elmley Castle, Ashton-under-Hill, Bredon, Overbury, make a delightful unspoilt tour around Bredon Hill
- and of course there are lots of good country pubs to call in on the way!
